Our Office’s Safety Precautions

We are confident that we can safely care for our patients and our team by building on the strong foundation of protective protocols we have been implementing for decades.  The implementation of universal precautions is our routine practice. With these safety precautions already in place, we are layering additional safety measures specifically recommended by the CDC in response to COVID-19 to create a safe environment for you and our team.

Safety precautions already in place:

  • Regular hand washing
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Using proper respiratory and cough etiquette
  • Use of sterile instruments and devices
  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces throughout the operatories and office
  • Rescheduling patients that are sick

New precautions:

  • Anyone entering the office must wear a mask and use hand sanitizer
  • Screening questionnaire for everyone entering the office
  • Touchless temperature checks
  • Plastic barriers in between patient chairs
  • Additional PPE (we may look a little different but we are still the same caring staff that you are accustomed too!)
  • Social distancing decals
  • Surgically Clean Air purification systems
  • Daily disinfecting foggers
  • Dispensing antiseptic mouth rinse for patients prior to procedures
  • Paperless transactions
  • Deferral to indirect communications:
    • Appointments by phone, text or email
    • Payments by phone or website (click on the “online payments” button on the top right of our website)

We are carefully orchestrating our schedule and patient flow to reduce the number of patients and staff in the office. Rest assured, we have implemented many NEW options to continue with the exceptional quality care that you expect from us. We now offer:

  •  Virtual appointments
  •  Curbside pickup

COVID 19 Screening:

To ensure the safety of everyone entering the practice, we are screening both patients and staff to help prevent the transmission of all respiratory infections, including COVID-19.

COVID 19 Screening Questionnaire:

  • Do you have a fever or above-normal temperature (>100.4° F)?
  • Are you experiencing shortness of breath or having trouble breathing?
  • Do you have a dry cough?
  • Do you have a runny nose?
  • Have you recently lost or had a reduction in your sense of smell or taste?
  • Do you have a sore throat?
  • Are you experiencing chills or repeated shaking with chills?
  • Do you have unexplained muscle pain?
  • Do you have any other flu-like symptoms, such as gastrointestinal upset or fatigue?
  • Do you have a headache?
  • Have you been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 5 days?
  • Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 5 days?

Additionally, we ask that either the patient or guardian notify us if within 14 days they test positive for COVID-19. Likewise, the dental practice will inform you if a staff person you had contact with tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of your appointment.

How can you prevent contracting or spreading COVID-19?

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20 seconds. If you don’t have access to soap and water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Maintain at least six feet of distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Do not use your hands.
  • Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.

Rest assured your safety is our #1 priority! Together, we can prevent the transmission of all respitory infections! We look forward to seeing you soon!
